Pollution
The Pollution Service strives to minimise the pollution of air, land and water, as well as pollution by noise, and to a limited extent, by light. This helps to provide a better quality of life and healthier communities within South Shropshire, thus meeting the Council's corporate objectives.
The Pollution Team regulate certain industries which may pollute the environment, carry out reviews and assessments of air quality, and investigate land that may be contaminated.
The team will investigate nuisances, sample private water supplies and assist with private drainage problems. The team liaise closely with the Planning and Building control service, and with other regulators and partner organisations.
