Fishing Licence - Environment Agency
Want to fish - need a licence
If you fish for salmon, trout, freshwater fish or eels in England and Wales you must have an Environment Agency rod licence before you go fishing. You will also need the permission of the fishery owner to fish at particular sites - there can be a charge for this.
Children under 12 yrs old do not require a rod licence. If you are aged between 12 - 16 yrs old then you require a Junior rod licence. Other concessions also apply (see link below)
To buy a rod licence on line follow the link to the Environment Agencys website where full details and costs are given http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/subjects/fish/399730/
You can also buy a rod licence from your local Post Office or by calling 0870 1662662 (Lines are open 8am - 8pm, seven days a week, March to October and calls are charged at national rate.)
