Shropshire Homelessness Strategy
Further to the publishing of the first countywide Homelessness Strategy in 2003, Shropshire has been working to address the issues and causes of homelessness within its five boroughs.
Through the Shropshire Homelessness Strategy Implementation Group (HSIG), Shropshire has embraced and responded positively to the Department of Communities and Local Government's (DCLG) changing agenda concerning homelessness. Adopting a proactive approach to addressing homelessness and implementing practical initiatives in homelessness prevention and housing options, HSIG have successfully achieved a number of objectives set out within the original strategy.
The 2008 -2009 Shropshire Homelessness Strategy Action Plan is the way for tackling homelessness in Shropshire. Developed from the findings of the 2003 - 2008 Shropshire Homelessness Strategy Review, the new Strategy Action Plan aims to proactively prevent homelessness in the county.
