Archives

Shropshire Archives is the archives and local studies service for the historic county of Shropshire, which includes the Borough of Telford and Wrekin.

We preserve and make accessible documents, books, maps, photographs, plans and drawings relating to Shropshire past and present. Around 15,000 people per year visit Shropshire Archives, with many more reaching us via our website. We provide a service for schools, an outreach and events programme.

We are funded by Shropshire County Council and the Borough of Telford and Wrekin and supported by an active friends organisation - the Friends of Shropshire Archives.
