Heritage Services
Many historic towns make annual awards for good design and conservation. In some cases the awards are made by the local authority, in some by a civic society and in others by some form of joint committee.
In 1990 it was suggested by Ludlow Town Council and Ludlow Civic Society that a Heritage Award Scheme for the Ludlow Conservation Area should be considered. The idea was supported and developed by the Ludlow Conservation Area Advisory Committee (see BVPN 48).
The Ludlow Heritage Awards were inaugurated by the Council as LPA in 1990 and extended to the Ludlow (Galdeford) and Ludlow (Steventon) Conservation Areas in 1994.
