Farmers Market
Farmers' Markets Around Shropshire
Farmers markets were originally established to enable producers to sell their goods locally and they are a great place to buy fresh local food direct from the people who produce it. Everything is grown or prepared by the stallholders who come from no further than 30 miles away.
You can find a wonderful variety of fresh and prepared or smoked foods including vegetables, fruit, cakes, bread, jams and pickles, fruit juices, sweets, patés, meat, and dairy products. Since they first started in the UK in 1997 there are now more than 380 throughout the country, several of them in Shropshire.
They are held in many of Shropshire's market towns on a regular day, although it is advisable to check with the nearest Tourist Information Centre before travelling a long way.
