South Shropshire District Retail and Leisure Study 2006-2021 ? July 2007
The findings of the study are intended to assist retail policy formulation in South Shropshire. The study identifies any need for the council to plan for new retail floor space over the period to 2021 and will be a material consideration in determining planning applications for retail and leisure development within the District.
The principal centres within the District (Bishop's Castle, Church Stretton, Cleobury Mortimer, Craven Arms and Ludlow) were evaluated to assess the extent to which they meet the retail and leisure needs of the local population.
The study is informed by a telephone survey, in-street surveys, business surveys and pedestrian flow counts.
