South Shropshire Partnership

This is an exciting opportunity for South Shropshire to make our community a better place in which to live, work and visit. Make sure you are part of it by getting involved with our Partnership.
The South Shropshire Partnership is the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) for the District. An LSP exists to bring organisations together to find ways of involving local people in deciding how their local services are designed and delivered. This is achieved by bringing together a wide range of organisations from the public, private and voluntary sectors to work effectively on a range of key, interlinked issues e.g. environment, health and the economy. Ultimately the role of the LSP is to set the strategic aims for the area, and ensure that they are delivered.
LSPs are non-statutory organisations, with no direct powers or resources. In South Shropshire, funding has been generated through the increase in the Council Tax levy on Second Homes. The County and District Council combined their increased allocation and channelled it through the South Shropshire Partnership. The Opportunity Fund has been established to enable activity that contributes to the aspirations of the Community Strategy.
Structure
The Partnership is made up of a Board of key partners, and five Ambition Groups reflecting the five main pillars of the Community Strategy (see diagram). Member organisations of the Board are shown on document below. The Board is supported by an Officer, funded through the Opportunity Fund and is currently chaired by Cecilia Motley, Leader of South Shropshire District Council.
