Litter and Dog Control Orders
On 11th January 2007 the Council resolved to formally adopt Litter and Dog Control Orders contained in the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005. This will facilitate enforcement action though the use of Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) for dog fouling, dog control matters and littering within the District.
In adopting these provisions the Council resolved that FPNs with a maximum penalty of £80, reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days, would apply. Failure to comply with an FPN could lead an individual to be taken before a Magistrate Court with fines of up to £2500.
