Council Tax & Housing Benefits
The Bridgnorth and South Shropshire Revenues Partnership
South Shropshire District Council and Bridgnorth District Council have merged their Benefit Sections to form the Bridgnorth and South Shropshire Revenues Partnership. This partnership has been created to address the future of a modern service in line with the recommendations put forward by the Gershon Review in 2004.
Both Bridgnorth and South Shropshire District Council have a history of effective partnership working which has substantially led the way in the formation of the partnership itself. By combining both key services together the citizens of Bridgnorth and South Shropshire will have access to a single service providing:
- Excellence in service delivery
- Year on year improvement in key service areas
- Improved customer focus and customer access
- Cost reductions in line with the Government efficiency agenda
- Sharing of best practice
- The provision of a more resilient service
Traditionally both councils have worked closely with each other in the Revenues and Benefits arena. This combined with the same service delivery ethos, similar demographics, the use of identical processing software and a joint requirement to achieve excellence in service delivery has inevitably led to the development of the Bridgnorth and South Shropshire Revenues Partnership.
The Partnership is the first of its kind within Shropshire and as such, is expected to deliver significant advantages to both councils - now and in future years.
