Play Provision Audit
An existing audit of local play areas and open spaces was revisited and
reviewed during the summer 2006. The audit identifies more than 40
equipped play areas across the 400 square miles of the district. More than
30 of these are outside the main town of Ludlow, with 12 in Ludlow town.
These are in various ownership, including the District Council, Town/Parish
Councils, Housing Associations, Schools, Village Halls and Voluntary
Community Sector.
The Play Audit has plotted the different provision on a GIS system, which
has been used to identify geographical gaps, and also back up issues that
arose from the consultations , p resenting play opportunities in a spatial context.
In addition, a full assessment of the play areas and open spaces of the
district was undertaken in line with Planning Policy Guidance PPG 17.
