Do I Qualify for a Disabled Band Reduction?
If you or someone who lives with you uses a wheelchair indoors or has an additional bathroom, kitchen or room used by and required for the needs of the disabled person you may be entitled to a reduced council tax bill based on the band immediately below the band shown in the valuation list. If your home is in Band A your charge will be reduced by 1/9th.
If your home has any special fixtures which have been added to your property for the disable resident which may reduce the value of your home and you don't think that this has been taken into account in the valuation band you should contact The Valuation Office Agency, Darwin House, 2 The Mount, Shrewsbury, SY3 8PU.
