Disabled Access
Malcolm Marsh is the Council's Access Officer.
Malcolm is the responsible officer for providing guidance on the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and Part M - Access to and use of buildings, of the Building Regulations 2000.
He is the District Council's Officer representative on the South Shropshire Access Group and works closely with the Group on all issues but in particular the Disability Access Grant Scheme.
Part of the Access Officers role is also to liaise with Shropshire Access Group on matters associated with disabled access within the district, this includes the promotion of disabled events and initiatives within the whole of the South Shropshire Area.
If you are proposing to have works carried out to enhance disabled access to an existing public or commercial building then you may be eligible for a grant from this authority. Please refer to the Disability Access Grant Scheme via the link below.
However, please note that the Disabled Facilities Grant Scheme is not dealt with by the Access Officer.
