Equality and Diversity

The aim of the Council is to sustain and improve its towns, villages and rural communities and the lives of the District's people and communities. Its vision is "a better quality of life for everyone in South Shropshire which produces inclusive, prosperous and healthy communities, now and for generations to come".
South Shropshire District Council is 'committed to equality', this pledge being adopted by full Council in October 2005. The District Council is committed to removing the barriers that lead to disadvantage and inequality. The Council will deliver services in a way which encourages those from all backgrounds and circumstances to have similar life opportunities, and to live and work confidently alongside each other.
The Council will celebrate difference and challenge individuals or groups partaking in or promoting unacceptable discriminatory behaviour in everything it does.
