To operate legally as a street trader on a Consent Street in Ludlow, you must hold a street trading consent permit. This allows you to trade from a licensed pitch/on a designated consent street. Anyone who does not hold a valid permit is trading illegally and is liable for prosecution.

Street trading may take place in other areas of the District although traders would be required to get the consent of the owner of the land, and Shropshire County Council if trading is to take place on the highway, before conducting business. It may be that planning permission is also required and if hot food or drink is being sold after 23:00 hours, a Premises Licence will need to be obtained under the Licensing act 2003.
