TOPs Sport Programme

South Shropshire District Council administers after school TOP Play and TOP Sport clubs in the Primary Schools across South Shropshire.
These schemes are designed to support teachers, leaders, coaches and other adults to encourage young people aged 7-11 to develop their sporting interests and opportunities, appropriate to their age and stage of development
What is 'TOPs'?
South Shropshire District Council is using TOP Play and TOP Sport, which is supported by Lottery Sports funding, to assist with the development of sporting opportunities for young people aged 4-11.
These aspects form part of a sporting pathway of linked progressive schemes developed by the Youth Sport Trust called the TOPs Programme.
The Youth Sport Trust, established in 1994, is a registered charity and working in close partnership with other organisations have developed and implemented a range of quality physical education and sport programmes for all young people aged 18 months to 18 years in schools and the community.
The word 'TOP' is a trade name and does not stand for anything.
