Non - Domestic (Business) Rates - calculating your charge
The Government sets a National Non-Domestic Rating Multiplier each year which is the rate in the pound by which the rateable value is multiplied, this amount is the annual rate bill which is payable for the property.In order to phase in the effect of the 2005 Revaluation a limit on the percentage your bill can decrease or increase each year will operate until March 2010, the scheme is referred to as 'Transitional Arrangements'. Any transitional adjustments will be shown on your bill if you qualify.
Every Billing Authority is then required to collect these amounts and pay them into a national rating pool.
