Local Land Charges
Local Land Charges were the creation of the Land Charges Act 1925 and were originally designed to ensure that purchasers of land were not caught unawares by obligations enforceable against successive owners by local authorities and the terms of various statutes.
Today the service is governed by the Act of 1975 and rules of 1977.
Solicitors can now submit and pay for searches via the National Land information service
