Development Control
Development Control is the part of the Service that deals with applications for planning permission and related controls.
You need planning permission for most forms of building work and consent to alter listed buildings and display advertisements as well as a number of other controls.
Through this Website you can apply, pay, comment and display information about a planning application through the following on-line facilities:
Online Planning Application Register
Planning explorer is a searchable database of all planning applications lodged with the Council dating back as far as 2001. This information is updated daily. Information provided through Planning explorer includes, site address, application number, description of the proposed development, related drawings and documents accompanying each planning application which includes, site plans, pictures and decision and condition notices.
User can track/monitor progress of any application from its registration to determination, including, date an application was received, validation/registration date, start and end dates of public consultation period and decision date and notice.

Submit and Pay for a Planning Applications Online
South Shropshire District Council supports on-line applications made using the National Planning Portal.Once you have completed your application, you may submit it electronically or print off your work and send it by post.You can also use the on-line applications service to produce a site location plan to accompany your application.

The Planning Inspectorate
The main work of the the Planning Inspectorate is the processing of planning and enforcement appeals and holding inquiries into local development plans. They also deal with a wide variety of other planning related casework including listed building consent appeals, advertisement appeals, and reporting on planning applications.
