Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) - How we involve the community

The Council has produced a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) that sets out how the Council will involve all sectors of the local communities in future decisions on planning matters. The SCI considers what methods of consultation will be used at each stage of production, and the groups of people we aim to consult during the production process of LDF documents.
The draft Statement of Community Involvement was consulted on during a six week period starting in July 2006. In total 30 individuals or organisations submitted representations The Draft Statement of Community Involvement and the Submission Document together with the pre-submission statement and notice can be viewed by clicking on the links below.
The amended document was submitted to the Secretary of State on 20th March 2007 and approved by the Planning Inspectorate on 20 July 2007. The final document can be viewed here.
