Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD'S)
SPDs can be prepared by local authorities to provide additional guidance and elaborate upon the policies of a development plan document. They are not subject to independent examination. SPDs included in the LDF will be material considerations, which have significant weight on planning applications in the decision making process.
SPDs are District-wide but specific to locality or subject as necessary. Development briefs for individual sites will become SPDs in due course on completion of further work.
Evidence gathering for SPDs is not due to start until July 2009.
