What is a Personal and Private Information?
The Council holds information which is of a personal and private nature because of its dealings with local people.
The Freedom of Information Act does not give public access to such information.
For example, the Act cannot be used to make public confidential information about Council Tax or Benefit matters to anyone other than the individuals concerned.
Access to all personal information of this type is restricted solely to the people who have a right to see it under the Data Protection Act 1998.
