Financial Services Section
Financial Services primarily a statutory service under the Local Government Act, 1972, the Local Government & Housing Act 1989 the Accounts & Audit Regulations, 1983, as amended by the Accounts & Audit Regulations, 1996. A number of discretionary activities are also undertaken.
The section is responsible for:-
- Creditor Payments
- Sundry Debtors
- Salaries & Wages
- Budgets
- Cash & Treasury Management
- Insurances
- Housing Advances
and is ultimately responsible for processing and monitoring transactions totalling nearly £90 million each year.
Statement of Accounts
The Council's annual statement of accounts summarises our financial affairs for the year and shows our financial position at 31 March.
It includes the following statements and accounts:Statement of accounting policies, Consolidated Revenue Account, the Collection Fund Accounts, Consolidated Balance Sheet, Statement of total movements in Reserves and the cashflow statement.
