Legal Services
The Legal Services Team provides advice and assistance to the Council's Members and Officers as its sole client is the Council. The main areas of activity are local government law, property law, contract law and local land searches. It also takes enforcement action on behalf of the Council.
The Legal Services Section cannot act for members of the public nor can it recommend particular firms of solicitors. Should you require legal advice and assistance from a solicitor, please contact The Law Society of England and Wales' which is able to assist members of the public in finding appropriate solicitors.
The Law Society may be contacted by telephone on 0870 606 6575 during ordinary business hours or you may visit their website
