What is the MTI?
MTI stands for Market Town Initiative, a national regeneration programme aimed at Market Towns to bring them and their surrounding villages and communities greater prosperity. The MTI in our region is managed by Advantage West Midlands (AWM), one of the Government's Regional Development Agencies.
Why Ludlow Marches?
AWM selected the Ludlow Marches as an area that could benefit from funding support through the MTI. It has many strengths that can be built on to bring greater economic benefit to the area, but also has some key issues that need to be addressed in order to strengthen the economy.
What Funding is Available?
AWM have made up to £500,000 available for the next three years, starting from April 2005. This funding is towards economic regeneration projects that will help to create jobs, safeguard existing jobs, provide training opportunities and create new work space.
AWM are also funding a part time officer post to help with the delivery of the programme over the next three years.
