Property Services Section

Property Services provides in house support services for all the departments of the authority to a greater or lesser extent and also provides services in its own right.

The Services is also the first point of contact for the letting of workshops, light industrial units, offices and the sale of industrial land.

The main duties and responsibilities of the Section are:-

  • Maintenance of Council property e.g. offices, leisure facilities, depot, workshops, car parks and public conveniences.
  • Design and supervision of construction projects.
  • Feasibility Studies.
  • Employment and supervision of Contractors/Consultants working for the Council.
  • Maintenance of select list of Contractors/Consultants.
  • Certification of Contractor/Consultant payments.
  • Land Drainage - maintenance of watercourses and flood relief schemes
  • Implementing the Construction Design and Management Regulations.
  • Preparation and Maintenance of Asset Register.
  • Provides and supervises 'in house' operatives for outdoor leisure, car parks, land drainage and public works
  • Responsibility for the Authority's vehicles, plant and equipment.
